“i” have a body,”i AM” not My body.
My body has a mind,”i AM” not My mind.
My mind has thoughts,”i AM” not My thoughts.
Realising the above can change everything. We become the witnessing presence that observes with a sense of detachment, for “i AM” not the thinking mind, nor am I the emotional body that is doing the feeling. “i AM” the observer, or witness, of My physical experiences…
Of course it goes without saying that We must always remain fully responsibility and in control of Our behaviours (actions), but appropriate behaviour (right action) arises from appropriate (right) thinking & appropriate (right) feeling.
With a little practice, like meditation, We can begin to create a “gap” between Our thoughts, feelings, & behaviours, and the one observing, or witnessing, the thoughts, feelings & behaviours. This allows Us to take a moment when thoughts & feelings arise, to view them, & to then consciously choose how We act, or if We simply let them pass, without holding onto, or chasing after them…
